Robotics makes it possible to support, facilitate, or completely take over work. For example, in auxiliary tasks, such as a robot moving goods from one place to another. Or at the heart of care, by deploying a robot to wash and care for patients and clients. In this way, robotics creates scope for (more) personal care. ZorgBots will demonstrate and allow you to experience this!
Project Description
Although robotics already makes work easier and supports it in many sectors, the Dutch healthcare sector has so far been hesitant. As the necessity grows, and countries around us are already taking significant steps, the time has come to boost the adoption of robotics in Dutch healthcare.
This is to demonstrate to as many stakeholders as possible, with two strong examples, what the potential of care bots is. The intended concrete results are directly related to this:
- Development and (virtual) demonstration in practice of a robotic solution for washing patients/clients
- Development and practical demonstration of a robotic solution for logistics tasks
- Communication and dissemination to inform as many stakeholders as possible
The aim of this project is to stimulate the application of robotics in healthcare practice. With the underlying ambition to reduce the workload of healthcare staff and enable the sector to cope with the growing demand for care; and to be able to offer more personalised care to patients in hospitals or long-term care.

Project Organisation
For this project to be possible, cooperation between different parties is and remains the key to achieving a successful outcome. Partners with a variety of expertise are represented within this project. Knowledge and skills are shared from (SME) technology companies, healthcare institutions and hospitals, network organisations, and knowledge institutions. This is the beginning of a growing healthcare bot community.
