Smart irrigation for sustainable agriculture
Dripcontrol is an Interreg Smart Farming & Food Processing project focused on smarter irrigation control in agriculture. By utilising sensors and data, water is no longer applied at fixed times but is tailored to the current needs of the crop. In this way, the project contributes to more efficient water use and future-proof cultivation.
Purpose
Less water, better yield
The aim of Dripcontrol is to reduce water consumption without compromising on yield and quality. By providing growers with real-time insight into soil and crop conditions, irrigation times can be determined more accurately. This reduces waste, lessens workload, and supports sustainable business operations.

Solution
Data-driven irrigation control
Within Dripcontrol, technology partners, knowledge institutions and agricultural businesses are collaborating on a smart irrigation solution. Sensors continuously gather data on soil moisture and environmental factors, after which the system provides irrigation advice or automatically controls irrigation. The solution is being tested and scaled up step by step, with the aim of creating a practically applicable and widely deployable system for the agricultural sector.
