In this minor project, students developed an autonomous system that moves above agricultural crops and performs various tasks such as measuring, monitoring, and planting. The goal was to create a smart, scalable solution for precision agriculture, thereby promoting efficiency and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

What has been realised?

The students have built a working demonstrator of the Agrobot Gantry: a system that moves autonomously over crops and collects data for analysis and decision-making. Thanks to its modular design and the use of sensor technology, the system is broadly applicable and easy to adapt to different crop and field types. A powerful step towards automated and data-driven agriculture!

What have they learned?


The project group has learned how robotics and sensor technology can be combined in an agricultural application. They have gained experience in designing a mobile platform, integrating measuring instruments, and processing agricultural data. Furthermore, they have gained insight into how technology can contribute to sustainable food production and how innovation can be made accessible to farmers and growers.
