They developed a modular and automated cultivation system that allows crops to grow in layers above each other \u2013 ideal for urban environments with limited space. The aim was to design a system that can supply fresh produce year-round, with minimal environmental impact. Think smart sensors, climate control, and data analysis for optimal growing conditions.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-group paddingtopbottom3 has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-right\">What has been realised?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\">The students have built a working Vertical Farm demonstrator that shows how technology and sustainability go hand in hand. The system uses sensors to monitor and adjust climate and lighting conditions, ensuring optimal crop growth. They have gained experience in designing a controlled cultivation space, programming climate controls, and analysing growth data.
